D17.1 CODE CLINIC

• Anyone wishing to learn how to navigate the D17.1 code book
  • This student body may encompass many positions, including:
    • Welders
    • Welding engineers
    • Welding inspectors
    • Welding supervisors
    • Shop owners

No previous knowledge is required. This course is designed to guide you in navigating and reading the D17.1 code in clear, easy-to-understand language and easily digestible chunks of information. Participants will learn to quickly locate important paragraphs, charts and tables, which is crucial to navigating the code in a timed testing environment and time sensitive working conditions.

This course teaches students how to:

• Explain how each clause in the D17.1 code book is structured
• Discuss the scope and general code requirements of each clause
• Accurately navigate the D17.1 code book in order to locate information
• Identify tables and figures that support the clauses
• Identify and define important terms used in the aerospace industry
